Webinar: DRIVING INNOVATION – The Future of Production Robotics and AI in the Automotive Industry

23.09.2025

online, 10:00 - 12:00 Uhr

The partnership of the Drive2Transform project is organizing an online webinar where experts will present the latest developments in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as the urgent need for transformation in the automotive industry - from smart factories to quality control and automation.
The webinar will explore how robotics and AI are reshaping the future of production in the automotive industry, expecially in the context of electrification and automation.

It will address how smart factories and AI-driven manufacturing processes can significally flexibility, efficiency and competiveness for Industry 4.0 and 5.0

Agenda

10.00 | Opening speech

10.10 | Robotization and automation of production
Dr. Igor Kovač, director SRIP Tovarne prihodnosti (Factories of the Future), Inštitut Jožef Stefan (Slovenian)
Learn how robotics and artificial intelligence are strengthening the competitiveness of automotive manufacturers and shaping Industry 4.0 and 5.0.
Presentation of SRIP ToP (smart factory) solutions and applications and best practices of EIT Manufacturing partners.

10.30 | Practice example of a pilot project:Corrosion detection with artificial intelligence – computer vision for industrial quality control
Ádám Takács, developer AR/VR/XR innovation Head at am-LAB (Hungary)
Discover how image-based AI and computer vision can automate the detection of surface defects (such as corrosion on cast iron parts), replace manual inspection, improve accuracy, and increase production efficiency.

10.50 | Practice example of a pilot project:Visual-Language-Action (VLA) models in robotics
Boldizsár Könczöl, development Engineer at am-LAB (Hungary)
Discover how Vision Language Action models (VLA) in robotics combine visual perception, language understanding, and physical action. Real-world performance also requires learning from action data and physical interaction.
VLA systems address this by integrating VLMs with action-oriented modules that connect perception with physical execution.

11.10 | Discussions with visiting experts (with prior registration)
Individual discussions with one of the guest lecturers, by prior arrangement.

*Webinar will be held in English
