From May 13 to 15, 2025, the Drive2Transform project team came together in Budapest for a transnational workshop and consortium meeting — a key milestone in our cross-regional collaboration to shape the future of mobility in Europe.
The event officially opened on May 14 with a welcoming session hosted by Zsofia Kocsis from Pannon Business Network, followed by key inputs:
- Project Introduction by Steve Schumann (Project Manager Cluster Mobility & Logistics, Techbase Regensburg)
- Expert Group Presentation by Filipp Frei (NOI Techpark)
- Showcase of the Zero3 Project by Oswald Bratu (Profactor)
These opening contributions set the stage for the first transnational workshop, which built upon the outcomes of 18 regional workshops (two per project region). Budapest marked the start of a European-level discussion, where regional insights were merged into a shared strategic dialogue.
Four key themes shaped the workshop sessions:
- Electrification
- Autonomous Driving
- Connectivity
- Platform Economy
In each area, experts and external stakeholders explored how regional innovation ideas and scenario thinking can contribute to a joint European transformation strategy. This approach enabled the creation of a first transnational scenario framework that connects regional ambitions with a shared European perspective.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit the Automotive and Industry Days Budapest, fostering connections with companies and industry representatives, and strengthening the project's innovation network.
The second day was dedicated to the official consortium meeting, where all project partners discussed strategic directions and operational next steps. Key topics included:
- Coordination of work packages and expert group formats
- Development of the transnational open platform
- Planning of webinars and events for business support organisations
- Political engagement and event planning
- Preparation of the upcoming Automotive Conference in Bolzano and Bruneck (October 2025)
This intensive and inspiring gathering underlined the importance of face-to-face dialogue and reinforced the value of thinking beyond regional borders.
A big thank you to all project partners and external contributors for their valuable input, energy, and commitment to Drive2Transform. We look forward to continuing this momentum — with more updates to follow on our website and LinkedIn channel.
