Working Group Quantum Computing | QuantenImpuls Regensburg

Backround

Quantum computing combines physics, computer science, and engineering, opening up entirely new possibilities in optimization, simulation, and security. While many applications are still in the development phase, now is the right time to prepare companies specifically for their use.
QuantenImpuls Regensburg aims to act as a catalyst: we demonstrate in a practical way where quantum computing can already be used today and what strategic opportunities will arise in the coming years. The goal is to enable companies to take their first steps in this future field at an early stage – realistically, practically, and with a view to specific areas of application.
Optional: Politics and funding programs at the state, federal, and EU levels are also increasingly focusing strategically on quantum computing. Early engagement brings competitive advantages, helps avoid bottlenecks, and creates the basis for future value creation.

Mission

The Working Group supports companies, research institutions, and public actors in the region in building knowledge, skills, and contacts in the field of quantum computing.
The focus is on practical exchange on technologies, fields of application, and trends, as well as jointly developing realistic applications.
The aim is to give companies ideas on how to strategically classify quantum computing, take meaningful steps today, and prepare for future opportunities.
The working group promotes cooperation within the network, paving the way for joint projects.

Goals of the working group

  • Provide guidance: What is quantum computing, and where does the technology stand today?
  • Highlight potential and limitations
  • Identify practical areas of application
  • Initiate collaborations and promote knowledge transfer

Networking and exchange of experiences

  • Regular meetings with varying focuses on quantum computing use cases
  • Exchange of information on current developments and practical applications
  • Workshops, site visits, and deep dive formats
  • Developing joint project ideas and networking partners

Why participate?

  • Access to an active network of experts and innovators in quantum computing
  • Early insights into fields of application and funding opportunities
  • Direct exchange of experiences on trends, projects, and technology development
  • The opportunity to develop ideas together and prepare for a strategic entry into quantum computing

Participation – achieving more together

The Working Group is aimed at companies and research institutions with relevant technological expertise, as well as users who are willing to participate in cross-company projects, share knowledge, and jointly develop and apply new technologies in the field of quantum technologies.
