A quarter-century of innovation: TechBase Regensburg GmbH celebrated its 25th anniversary with an Innovation Day that brought together pioneers, partners, and the next generation of founders. Before a distinguished audience - including Minister of State Hubert Aiwanger and Mayor Dr. Thomas Burger - the program impressively demonstrated what two decades of consistent innovation and cluster policy can achieve.
Innovation Talk: A concrete success story from Regensburg
Starting at 10:50 a.m., Uwe Pfeil (Cluster Mobility & Logistics) took the stage as moderator for one of the four Innovation Talks. The focus was on a very recent success story: In April 2026, the TechBase startup brainjo GmbH had closed a seed financing round of 2 million euros - with High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) as the lead investor and better ventures and the MEDICE Health Family as co-investors. The two panelists, Markus Wensauer (co-founder of brainjo) and Andreas Weinhut (WEINHUT GmbH), provided insights into their perspectives on the Regensburg ecosystem during three rounds of questions.
Cross-Cluster in Practice
brainjo develops VR-based digital health applications for children with ADHD - a digital health product that is already undergoing clinical trials with the MEDICE Health Family and aims to receive market approval in 2028. Andreas Weinhut’s story was particularly insightful: As the managing director of a CEP logistics company and an AI thought leader in the SME sector, he invested as a business angel in a startup far outside his core industry - thus embodying in real time what cross-cluster networking means at TechBase. Uwe Pfeil summed it up: Cluster Mobility & Logistics and TechBase enable precisely these bridges - between industries, between generations, between ideas and capital.
25 years – and not a bit tired
The anniversary has impressively demonstrated one thing: TechBase is not a place to celebrate the past, but a vibrant ecosystem that produces measurable results.
