The Regensburg-based deep-tech startup NewSense Engineering GmbH has been nominated for the 2026 Bavarian Innovation Award and is also among the winners of the Start?Zuschuss! funding program.
The Bavarian Innovation Award is presented every two years by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs in collaboration with the Bavarian Chambers of Commerce and Industry to recognize market-ready technological innovations. The nomination confirms the technological maturity and application potential of NewSense Engineering’s AI-based sensor technologies.
In addition, the company prevailed in the highly competitive Start?Zuschuss! program and is thus one of the ten funded startups from across Bavaria. The funding specifically supports young, innovative companies during their growth phase.
“Our products are not developed for short-lived trends or mere showcases, but for reliable practical use. We are very pleased that this quality is now confirmed by both the nomination and the funding,” says Dr. Yang Ji, Managing Director and Founder of NewSense Engineering GmbH.
The awards impressively confirm how marketable innovations with a supraregional impact emerge from project-oriented collaboration within the R_Lab Mobility project, which is managed by the Cluster Mobility & Logistics.
