Trends in automotive logistics

On May 20, 2025, the Cluster Mobility & Logistics was represented at the Trends in Automotive Logistics (TAL) Conference 2025 in Pilsen. The conference was organized by Aimtec in cooperation with the IHK Regensburg and offered numerous insights into digitization and logistics in the automotive sector.

In addition to the exciting program of presentations, the event also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas with project partner Filipp Tikal from the Regional Development Agency of Pilsen (RDAP). As part of the Interreg project Drive2Transform, concrete next steps for further cooperation were agreed upon.

This year's TAL conference was held under the motto “2025 Digital. Future-Proof?” and brought together leading experts from industry and science to discuss current developments in the fields of digitalization, automation, and artificial intelligence in automotive logistics.

Inspiration from practice: From BMW to Bosch

Highlights included in particular:

  • BMW iFACTORY (Tobias Mayr): The BMW Group is pursuing its vision of efficiently, sustainably, and digitally restructuring over 30 plants worldwide in the coming years. A particular highlight: The Regensburg plant is one of the first locations worldwide to have already successfully converted to a new digital production system while remaining in operation.
  • Škoda Auto (Mojmír Barák): Clear insights into the practical use of AI to increase efficiency in logistics.
  • TEST CAMP Intralogistics (Thilo Jörgl): Robotics and AI in industrial use – for example, through Figure AI at the BMW plant in Spartanburg or a joint project between Fraunhofer and DPD in Cologne.
  • 6G research for the factory of the future: Bosch and the Technical University of Prague presented a forward-looking cooperation for the integration of 6G mobile networks in industrial environments.
  • Safran Cabin (Selim Caluwaerts): The world's leading aerospace supplier impressively demonstrated how digital transformation can also be successfully implemented in highly specialized areas such as aircraft seats or helicopter engines.

The program was rounded off by panel discussions and a wide range of networking opportunities with representatives from business and science.
