There were certainly more than 11 good reasons to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the Mobility & Logistics Cluster! And so, on July 21, 2022, in the late afternoon, representatives from business, academia, and politics, as well as friends and long-time supporters of the cluster, gathered in the festively decorated foyer of TechBase in Regensburg to toast the anniversary.
The approximately 70 guests were warmly welcomed by Gstanzl singer Hubert Mittermeier, who, together with Natalie Schwab from the Mobility & Logistics Cluster, guided the audience through the program.
Dr. Thomas Burger, City Council member for the City of Regensburg and representative of the mayor, highlighted in his welcoming remarks the cluster’s outstanding role as a key driver of innovation. Alexander Rupprecht, the host at TechBase and managing director of R-Tech GmbH, also outlined in his welcome remarks the effective collaboration between the City of Regensburg, industry, academia, and the cluster, citing projects such as the autonomous people mover EMILIA, the R&D networks HY2.ZERO, and the EU project RECIPROCITY. The cluster identifies global challenges and emerging trends and translates them into concrete application projects by leveraging the collective potential of the local ecosystem.
Afterward, Stephan Stauber of SimPlan AG, Dr. Rainer Seßner of Bayern Innovativ GmbH, Uwe Pfeil of the Mobility & Logistics Cluster, Manfred Koller of Stadtwerk Regensburg GmbH, and Prof. Dr. Schneider of OTH Regensburg took the stage for a brief panel discussion to explain what motivates them to participate in the cluster and where the journey might lead in the future.
Amid hot temperatures, cold beer, drinks, and pleasant conversations, the evening came to a cozy close at the Artrium.
Two clusters became one; a 20-square-meter booth at LogiMAT became a 125-square-meter booth; and the NIL network became a cluster with over 100 members…
