Approaches to Digitizing the Creation of Transport Orders

Virtual Meeting of the Working Group on Digitalization in Production Logistics

On June 27, the Mobility & Logistics Cluster, together with Prof. Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing. Stefan Galka, OTH Regensburg, hosted a virtual meeting of the Working Group on Digitalization in Production Logistics.

The meeting focused on discussing potential solutions for the digitalization of transport order generation within the company. After a brief welcome by Anne Häner of the Mobility & Logistics Cluster, Prof. Stefan Galka, Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing., from OTH Regensburg, took the lead in the meeting. He briefly presented the theoretical background on transport order generation and then led a workshop with the participants to discuss potential problems and solutions based on two case studies.

This is because the use of driverless transport systems or transport control systems requires the generation of digital transport orders, which serve as the information basis for transport scheduling. What sounds simple is often a challenge, as a transport is not always initiated directly by an event in the ERP system. During the virtual working meeting, participants therefore discussed challenges related to the generation of orders for automated or manually executed transports and brainstormed potential solutions.

The Working Group is open to new members who would like to collaborate with other companies and research institutions to develop innovative solutions and share knowledge. If you are interested, please contact us at anne.haenertechbase.de.
