On June 28, 2022, AVL Software and Functions GmbH invited the “Autonomous People Mover Regensburg (APR)” project consortium to a meeting at the industrial park. In addition to the project partners, the project sponsor, DLR, was also able to get a firsthand look at the project on site.
After an initial opportunity to get to know one another in person, the meeting was used to present the current status of work by each project partner.
Following a short lunch break, the project consortium was then able to tour the shuttle vehicle and the on-site facilities—including the garage and charging infrastructure—and take a ride on the autonomous shuttle bus around the circuit in the Gewerbepark.
The APR project involves two electrically powered autonomous shuttle buses named “Emilia,” which are being deployed by Stadtwerk.Mobilität in the industrial park as part of a two-year pilot project.
