On June 25 and 26, 2019, the first major meeting of the Block.IS project consortium took place in Brussels.
Block.IS stands for Blockchain Innovation Spaces. The project, which is co-financed by the European Union's Horizon 2020 program, aims to establish a cross-sector and cross-border innovation ecosystem focused on blockchain technology. The focus is on start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the three high-growth sectors of agri-food, FinTech, and logistics.
During the 32-month project period, the consortium will carry out activities throughout Europe to build a blockchain community. To plan these activities, the IT logistics cluster met with its eleven European partners in the EU capital, Brussels. Despite the high temperatures, the project consortium was highly motivated and worked on a plan for the next 12 months. Planned are Europe-wide Block.IS cluster missions, events for clusters, innovators & SMEs in various European cities, as well as innovation challenges and technology and business-promoting support services for SMEs and clusters.
The first exciting events and calls for proposals will begin in late summer/early fall. To stay up to date on the project, sign up for the Block.IS newsletter. Simply click on the following link and register on the homepage (below): https://blockis.eu/
