TechBase is joining a new European hub for digital transformation and artificial intelligence

A wide range of support services from edih dina is now available

On September 1st of 2026, edih dina (European Digital Innovation Hub | Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence) will launch a Bavaria-wide support program for digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI). TechBase Regensburg is participating in the project together with the Mobility & Logistics cluster, AIR Artificial Intelligence Regensburg, and the Upper Palatinate Digital Startup Initiative (DGO).

The program is geared toward established companies (SMEs), startups, and public institutions. It helps them to find, test, finance, and implement suitable technologies. Through funding advice, startup support, and targeted networking, edih dina also helps to put new solutions into practice and spread them widely through its network. It also provides access to training, expertise, and collaboration partners. In this way, edih dina promotes digital skills, lowers investment barriers, and puts solutions into practice. The benefits are clear: SMEs can expand their competitiveness, startups can bring ideas faster to market, and public organizations can further develop their administrative processes and services digitally.

As the Bavarian hub of the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network, edih dina supports organizations regardless of their level of digital maturity. The focus is always on the next step. This could be initial guidance, the development of existing skills, or even the search for partners for specific projects. To this end, edih dina brings together a network of researchers, businesses, and innovation funding organizations.

Funded with approximately 3 million euros as part of the EU’s Digital Europe Program, edih dina combines European funding initiatives with concrete regional transformation in Bavaria. As part of the European network of more than 250 European Digital Innovation Hubs, the project benefits from collaboration with sister projects across Europe, as well as from the expertise and capabilities of the participating innovation ecosystems. In this way, it not only strengthens regional business hubs but also contributes to Europe’s digital competitiveness.

In addition to TechBase Regensburg—which includes the Clusters Mobility & Logistics, AIR Artificial Intelligence Regensburg and Digitale Gründerinitiative Oberpfalz (DGO)—the consortium includes Bayern Innovativ as the consortium leader, the applied AI Institute, the Bayerische Forschungsallianz (BayFOR), the Bayerische KI-Agentur / BAIOSPHERE AGENCY, the Digitale Zentrum Schwaben (DZ.S), fortiss, the Fraunhofer-Institute IGCV und IIS, as well as the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and the East Bavarian University of Applied Sciences in Regensburg.

Four Service Pillars for the Digital Future

1. Test before invest: Put technologies to the test in real-world scenarios

Companies can test digital technologies and innovative applications before making an investment. edih dina assists with feasibility studies and evaluates technical and economic potential. This provides a solid basis for decision-making and helps ensure that investments are targeted effectively.

2. Financing and Investments: Enabling Implementation

edih dina provides support in identifying grant programs, financing options, and investors, as well as in preparing financial plans. In this way, the service supports digitalization projects and technology development from concept to implementation.

3. Innovation Ecosystems and Networking: Connecting Partners

edih dina brings together companies, research institutions, and other organizations for specific projects. The network facilitates access to industry experts and lays the foundation for new collaborations.

4. Skills & Training: Building Skills

Through targeted professional development programs, edih dina helps your organizations build their employees’ digital skills. This enables them to use new applications confidently and apply digital solutions in a sustainable way.

Nearly 100 free services and consulting offers

The program offers nearly 100 free services and consulting options on AI, IT security, digital production, deep tech, grants, venture capital, continuing education, and networking. As a project partner, TechBase Regensburg serves as a central point of contact within the edih dina initiative.

The Mobility & Logistics and AIR Artificial Intelligence Regensburg clusters provide targeted support to SMEs in securing funding for research and development, digitalization, and AI, as well as through international networking events, including those held in cooperation with Bayern International. The Upper Palatinate Digital Startup Initiative (DGO) is specifically aimed at startups, founders, and the public sector: It provides support with funding programs and access to capital and strengthens networking between SMEs, startups, and the public sector. Through practical formats such as webinars, workshops, and networking events, TechBase brings these stakeholders together in a targeted manner.
