The “NEXTCHAIN – Mobility Value Chains” event on April 23, 2026, brought together key players in the European mobility and innovation landscape in a compact online format. The goal was to drive digital transformation along mobility value chains and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
The focus was particularly on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), technology providers, and research institutions working together on solutions for connected and digital mobility. Members of the Cluster Mobility & Logistics, such as New Sense Engineering GmbH and MUVN Mobility GmbH, also participated. The event is part of the pan-European NEXTCHAIN Event Series, which aims to accelerate innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of the European economy.
In terms of content, the program was structured into several coordinated formats: Following an introduction by 28DIGITAL and participating European Digital Innovation Hubs (including DInO, EDIH Madrid Region, Digitaltech EDIH, and AI EDIH Hungary), insights were provided into current developments along the mobility value chains. This was complemented by pitch sessions featuring innovative European SMEs presenting their solutions and technologies.
A key benefit of the event lay in the structured exchange: moderated B2B networking sessions facilitated targeted connections between companies, research institutions, and innovation stakeholders. This enabled the identification and further development of concrete opportunities for collaboration.
The virtual format enabled broad international participation while also underscoring the goal of making cross-sector collaboration efficient and accessible. Overall, the event demonstrated how targeted networking and the exchange of best practices can generate new momentum for digital business models and innovative mobility solutions.
Note:
The event was part of the Digital Innovation Ostbayern (DInO) project, which is one of three European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) in Bavaria. The project focuses on digital transformation in SMEs and public administrations. As part of DInO, the Mobility & Logistics Cluster provides support for the services “Innovation Ecosystem & Networking” and “Support to Find Financing and Investment.”
