Industrialization of Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies

On June 30, 2022, the Mobility & Logistics Cluster, together with ESy-Labs GmbH and OTH Regensburg, hosted the “Netzwerk HY2.ZERO” event on-site. During the event, attendees had the opportunity to tour the laboratories of the two network partners.
The HY2.ZERO innovation network  aims to support the industrialization of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies through new and improved solutions and is thus part of the market ramp-up.

Phase 1 of the HY2.ZERO network—which is a funded network under the Central Innovation Program for SMEs—began last April and concluded on June 30, 2022.
To mark the conclusion of Phase 1 and before moving on to Phase 2, a network meeting was held at which the network partners Esy-Labs and OTH Regensburg presented their laboratories. While Esy-Labs produces hydrogen as a byproduct of chemical reactions, OTH Regensburg is investigating how hydrogen can best be burned in an internal combustion engine. Thanks to these fascinating insights, interesting questions arose that sparked lively discussions.

The network partners remain strongly committed to hydrogen technology and are pursuing innovative projects within the network to penetrate and improve the market with new hydrogen or fuel cell technologies.

The cluster is pleased with the successful conclusion of Phase 1 and looks forward to further developing the network for Phase 2.
