Sustainability from a business perspective: “Driving Change II – Module 1”

07/24/2025

Topic: Green Skills

On July 23, 2025, the workshop “Driving Change II – Module 1: Green Skills” took place. Participants from various fields engaged intensively with the topic of sustainability in companies.

The central question of the workshop was: What does sustainability mean for a company?

In addition to existing laws and standards, it became clear that individual, company-specific ideas of sustainability also play a role. Various topics were discussed in the course of the workshop. These included the “triple bottom line” pyramid, systemic thinking, and the difference between eco-efficiency and eco-effectiveness. These topics were supplemented by insights into materials science and sustainable design.

The conclusion of the workshop was that no new skills are required to implement sustainability in a corporate context. Rather, it is crucial to view and apply existing skills from new perspectives.

Finally, we would like to thank the module's speaker, Dr. Philipp Ramin from i.40 the future skills company, for his expert input accompanied by short, practical exercises, which contributed significantly to the success of the workshop.

Note

The event was part of the German government's transformation networks. The Regensburg-based project transform.r supports companies in coping with structural change in the automotive industry.
